Famous actor Rishabh Shetty is gearing up for a starring role in the much-anticipated ‘Kantara 2’ movie, boasting an impressive budget of approximately 100 crores. The big reveal came directly from Raj B Shetty, who made it clear that the production of this film would happen no matter the cost. Meanwhile, Raj B Shetty’s own project, ‘Toby,’ is on track for its Malayalam debut on September 22. During discussions about his upcoming ventures, he also spilled some details about ‘Kantara 2,’ which is currently in the scripting stage.
This sequel promises grandeur, with a budget nearly ten times larger than its predecessor, reaching a staggering 100 crore rupees. When questioned about the possibility of a follow-up to Rakshit Shetty’s ‘777 Charlie,’ Raj B Shetty confirmed that, for now, such a project is not in the works. Director Kiranraj is working on a different story, and Rakshit is expected to star in that movie, with Raj B Shetty not involved.
On another note, the Malayalam trailer for Raj B Shetty’s ‘Toby’ has been receiving positive feedback. Directed by Basil Alchalakkal, the film will be distributed in Kerala through Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
Rishabh Shetty, who is part of ‘Kantara 2,’ is reportedly undergoing a significant physical transformation for his role, aiming to shed around 11 kilograms to achieve a more slender appearance. ‘Kantara 2’ is set to transport audiences back to the year 400 AD, adding to the intrigue surrounding the film. With a coastal backdrop, filming will take place in coastal locations. The film’s writers, Anirudh Mahesh, Shanil Guru, and their team, have traveled to Mangaluru to craft the story and screenplay.
